- Omental bursa (lesser sac): diverticulum of the peritoneal cavity behind the stomach, liver and lesser omentum; also called the left posterior intraperitoneal compartment.
- It communicates with the greater sac through the foramen epiploicum (epiploic foramen, or foramen of Winslow).
