Definition
Drowning is a form of asphyxial death resulting from submersion or immersion in a liquid, usually water, causing interference with respiration.

External Findings
- Fine froth — White, fine, persistent froth at mouth and nostrils.
- Cutis anserina — Goose-skin appearance.
- Washerwoman's hands and feet — Wrinkling and soddening of skin.
- Cadaveric spasm — May clutch weeds, grass or mud.
