Definition

  • Glucose is reabsorbed completely from the tubular fluid in the proximal tubule, by secondary active transport linked to Na+ reabsorption.
  • Normally almost all filtered glucose (100 mg/min) is reabsorbed, so urine is essentially glucose free.
